Made with aromatic cedar and common plywood, Urban Studies is a stylized “birdseye” view of rooftops , and partial views of neighborhood dwellings and skyscrapers. The idea for this piece is based on a family member who raises pigeons and races them, this activity is a 7th ward tradition in New Orleans. The homing pigeon returns to the open windowsill after running it’s race.
