Made with hand-carved aromatic cedar and common plywood, “Stepper” depicts a scene of past New Orleans where slaves are used to harvest a mystery crop and are praying for a divine intervention. The leg jutting down from the clouds represents the leg of God entering this reality to intervene and stop the suffering. This piece is a derivative of the idea of hope.
