Made with Red Oak, and common plywood. “Urban Studies #2” is a larger version of #1. This work is a stylized “birds eye” view of rooftops and partial views of neighborhood dwellings and skyscrapers. The idea for this piece is based on a family member who raises pigeons and races them, this activity is a tradition in the 7th ward community in New Orleans. The homing pigeon returns to the open windowsill after running it's race.
