Made with Aromatic Cedar and common plywood, ink and screws. “Deliverance” depicts a evolution of New Orleans shaped around it’s proximity to the Mississippi River. The chronology begins with chattel slaves harvesting and preparing a mystery crop and placing it in containers and shipping it up the river. The scene transitions to contemporary times with mechanical devices doing the same work as the former slaves. The appendage reaching through the coulds represents the hand of God intervening the suffering.
